About Style YOUR Stack and Nan
I want to tell you a bit about my background and the services I offer.
I’m the creator of STYLEYOURSTACK, a design service for Substack writers.
I’m a writer, first and foremost, but I’m also a web + graphic designer with about 15 years of experience. My specialty has always been working with writers, my favorite folks.
I design logos, brands, and websites, and I’m good at it. Besides having tech and design skills, I spend a lot of time asking questions when I meet with you. I dig a little deeper than some, to learn about you and what your priorities are for your stack.
Am I a coach? Yeah, I guess I am. Do I have a lot of opinions? Oh…YES, I do. It delights me when you want to hear what they are. It makes it so much easier for both of us, because regardless, I’m going to share my thoughts with you!
My aim is to demystify the process of publishing on Substack, and to help you understand and utilize the tools available to you. These tools will allow you to do the thing you’re actually here to do: WRITE!
If you prefer not to do the backend work, I can lay out and schedule your posts, curate photos, and teach you about recording audio and video to add value to your publication. That will free you up even more to get back to the business of writing, which is why you’re here in the first place. You certainly don’t need my help with that.
I’m here to make sure that while you’re writing and publishing, you look good too!
Services:
Logo, cover/welcome page, and wordmark design
Branding
Branded Calls To Action (CTA)
Back-end instruction: how to post, add audio and video to your stack.
Front-end instruction: how it works. I can show you how to use Notes to your best advantage.
Complete newsletter set-up: top to bottom, I can get you ready to roll!
The perfect photo selection for each post so people will want to read more!
Need a Virtual Fairy? If you don’t want to do it (the backend stuff, the logo, wordmark, cover image, post set-up), but you need someone who does want to––and can––call on me!
I’m sure there’ll be other things, and as they arise, I’ll add to this list.

I can also be your Virtual Substack Fairy. I’ll help you post, choose photos, schedule, and troubleshoot issues you might not know how to solve.
My general rate is $125/hour for services separate from the Style My Stack! package.
Or, you can get it all: I’ll STYLEYOURSTACK!

If you’re interacting with me directly as a STYLEMYSTACK client (the big one!) you’ll get the whole shebang. And we’ll have fun!
Subscribe and then you’ll be in my loop. Never miss a post.
Subscribers will receive access to my posts, writer profiles, and fun tidbits about design and functionality.
A little more about me.
I started working on my first newsletter, The Next Write Thing, in January of 2024. I publish a weekly personal essay and have fallen in love with the Substack community. It’s become a hard habit to break, so I’ve decided I don’t have to. I launched my podcast January, 2025. And on my 2nd anniversary on Substack, January 17, 2026, I’ll be launching my new project, the first in a series of live monthly story slams for women storytellers at Wham! Bam! Thank You! Slam!
I’d to spending my time on Substack doing the things I’m good at––writing and designing––and supporting writers in achieving their goals. In the process of settling in here, I’m meeting so many Substack writers who don’t know how or where to begin. In the past year, I’ve worked with over 60 clients, helping them identify their visual message, and their brand––I love brainstorming newsletter names––and I’ve taught them how to get their newsletters up and running.
For something completely fun, take a gander at this video I made a while back, when my hairstyle was a little different. My pal Franco Vogt, the amazing NY-based portrait photographer helped me execute the concept. It’s dedicated to my love of eyeglasses and being silly!
