Okay, my friend, here’s the weird thing. I consider M&M’s to be my first addiction. As a child, once I started eating them, I couldn’t stop. I also still buy them, but wish I didn’t.
Wow.... what a pivotal and visceral moment. I don't know how I missed this one along the way. (I followed the link from today's post and discovered a new-to-me post.) I totally thought that bag of M&Ms was going to rain down on you there in the playpen, counterpart to the magical dust motes. It seems it was even worse... What a heavy and deceptively "sweet" moment to look back on and to carry with you.
I had a Jewish grandma too! She carried Charms lifesavers in her bag always and was forever approaching my brothers and me and offering them to us in a sly secretive manner, “bubbala, you want a charm?” like they were an illegal drug! She called me Shana Madela and Mamela and fed me bagels and bialys on weekend mornings… I love your writing,Nan! Brings me right back to my childhood.
I used to obsess about the colors, thinking that some had more mojo associated with them then others. Once in a while they'd come out with orange. Go figure.
I like the orange ones, the blue and the green. When I was a kid I remember two different browns. Never really liked those so much. My color palette hasn't changed much. Love the brights, don't love the earth tones!

Oh boy. Yeah. This has been a massive M&M week. Plain and peanut. Way too many M&Ms!

I’m glad you read it. This was my first post! The memory is haunting for me.
I can see how it would be.... terrifying in so many ways in the moment, as remembered by 3-year-old-you.

Thank you so much Sharon! Say hi to the guys!
Such gorgeous writing from beautiful you.
Thank you so much. This is a marvelous adventure!
Oy. That bag of M&Ms is ever-present for me. Still craving, still living with the conflict to 'feel or eat.' _()_ Nan. Love your writing. xoxox
Oh. Billie. Thank you. And thank you for supporting me in this endeavor. It means so much to me.
Wow! What a memory. I totally relate. How shall I stuff those pesky feelings today?
Wow! Such visceral descriptions! You really got me in the gut. (No pun intended :) )
Thank you! All puns are welcome.
Same here! And I didn't go for the yellow or red. LOL

That’s such a powerful memory.
